| 2005 | Annual Environmental Audit, Arid Lands Resource Management Project Phase (ALRMP). Review the paper trail of screening checklists and EIA reports, and review of reports on wider issues of natural resources and environmental management; Select a number of community micro-projects and sub-projects for field visits to investigate compliance with proposed mitigation measures and identification of potential impacts that are not being adequately identified or dealt with by community micro-project. The sampled 12 district namely: Kajiado, Makueni, Kitui, Mbeere, Garissa, Tana River, Wajir, Mandera, Narok, Laikipia, Samburu and Baringo. Health issues were analyzed in the following components: Boreholes, water pans, water dams, shallow wells, piped community water and springs. Recommendations were made on mitigation measures to be undertaken to minimize negative health impacts. |
